- CPVC never corrodes. No scaling, pitting, or other intrusions to worry about that will eventually compromise system functioning and service life.
- With no pressure drops from surface corrosion to consider, hydraulic calculations for sizing pipe and fittings can merely incorporate a Hazen-Williams C factor of 150, which will remain constant as the system ages. Contractors may even be able to get by with a smaller pipe size.
- CPVC can be joined multiple ways. Contractors who have mastered the basics of solvent welding in plumbing applications can simply transfer that knowledge and grow business to the hydronics segment with ease. You can also use mechanical joining utilizing coupling methods that have been used on steel pipe for decades. No welding required, and no cure time.
- CPVC is lightweight. Not only is it easier to transport to a job site, it has a lot of flexibility to be designed into a system using non-standard routing.
- CPVC requires less labor, tools and other incidental considerations involved with heat welding, keeping installed costs low.
