Where It’s Used: High-Rise Buildings
Whether 10 stories or 40, high-rise properties like offices, apartments and hotels rely on dependable performance behind the walls, no matter the number of building occupants. Corzan® Piping Systems can handle high capacities and is available in the multiple sizes often needed for high-rises. Corzan CPVC can also withstand highly chlorinated water in temperatures up to 200°F (93.3°C) required for disinfection protocols.
Corzan CPVC installs quicker than PEX in its most common configuration using mechanical joining tools and solvent-welding, which results in a joint that is stronger than the pipe or fitting on its own. Unlike other installation methods like crimping, fusion or expansion, the Corzan CPVC installation processes are fast and easy, and a correctly installed system can perform at the highest quality for sometimes decades.
In fact, a Stress Engineering analysis found that Corzan CPVC systems using the riser clamp installation practice results in acceptable stress states for installation temperatures down to 30°F (-1.11°C), as long as the internal pressure rating of the riser is not exceeded for a given expected internal temperature of 140°F (60°C) – up to and including a 50-year service life.
